Back by popular request tongue

Done so far:

* showered and dressed
* put on makeup shocked
* taken poor, beaten up cat to the vet's (one of the reasons I've been quiet - we have a nasty neighbour's cat just about holding us hostage here)
* done most of dishes

tlc for rest of day:

* get through it (tired)
* go to tai chi tonight, even though I'm exhausted
* nurse poor cat
* wash off make up before bed.


That's it for me.

ahhhhhh Thank you Ivy :)

done so far:

* woken up by small earthquake not far from out house grrrrrrr
* rang work to say couldn't get to work because of the snow (worst snow here since 1918 apparently)
* thought about shovelling snow from drive so I could go to work tomorrow
* had breakfast
* tried to shovel snow from drive
* gave up trying to shovel snow from drive
* had lunch
* did some work from home (YAY for VPN connections)

still to do

* have tea

Really tired from doing not that much but all in all not a bad day as days go around here :)

Just read your update on nanners thread and have to agree symptoms sound awfully like a stricture, and a nasty one at that, which really sucks.

I understand you will be feeling really fed up - not to mention completely exhausted.

Really glad you are up to posting again - do keep us up on how you go. Hope they have a cunning plan :P

Snow? In Christchurch??? I thought that *never* happened.

I know you have the mountains and everything, but it's supposed to stay *on* the mountains, not on you...

How strong was the quake? (How fed up are you? They've been going on for ages.)

I've only been in one earthquake, but I can still get a cold chill when I hear a low rumbling truck or wave approaching me. All I can imagine is that your nerves are / are becoming shattered :-(.

How long have you been doing tai chi? I've been at it for a couple of months now and LOVE it!!

I think my instructor and I are going to do a little demo for my halloween/surprise 40th b-day party/hafla party in oct.

Yes i am throwing myself a surprise party...and what's a hafla you ask.....guess.

Not long, takilra: second lesson is tonight, but I'm a devoted fan already :-). What can you do? Can you do the whole 18?? movements of the first form??? yet? (You can tell I'm still new to the lingo).

I googled hafla. Is it something to do with belly dancing? Do you do that too?

yes mama that is what i do!!! a hafla is a group of us getting together to dance and show off what we have learned!! Almost all 18, still trying to figure out how the heck they get some of those animal names in the moves...cause i tell ya i just can't see it

hey guys,

things are ok with me. latest crp level is 81. lots has happened!

* readmitted end of march for 6 days. IV hydrocortisone for 5 days before my belly softened back up again. (crp normal)
* restarted on infliximab with premedication
* 4 weeks after discharge, crp back up to 21
* 3 months after that, crp up to 50, put on aza
* 2 weeks later another bad reaction to infliximab
* 1 week ago, put on aluminium hydroxide
* today crp is 81.
seeing GI and specialist nurses on 3rd of august.

Good news is i'm going to holland for a summer camp for young people with IBD. really looking forward to it, leaving on the 25th of august and coming back on the 28th.

glad tlc threads are back, missed them. Good to hear you guys are doing ok. xx

What happened with the 'mab? How bad a reaction was it? And what does the aluminium do? Are you in pain? Huge hugs to you, my dear.

Have you moved yet?

Takilra, we just started on number three last night, so you're a long way ahead of me. It's fun, though, isn't it?

I forgive you for being warm Lamb61 but only because you are so nice !

snow actually stopped late Monday but it is just not melting although they have promised a warm wind tomorrow (AY). My driveway is still impassable and as I am 'home alone' I am just not going to risk doing anything that will put me in the ER. about six inches of power on an inch of treacherous ice - can't even remember the last time I saw snow here so very weird indeed.

luckily (I guess) my workplace is in total disarray this week as they have been told by engineers that the building is unsafe due to the ongoing earthquakes and we are all being relocated for three months whilst they strengthen it.

Life in Christchurch New Zealand sure is complicated these days!

Yeah, its not been a good run! 'Mab reaction wasnt as bad as it was the first time, but still had some chest pain, palpatations, harder to breathe, boiling hot and tingling in my cheeks. Luckily, it was easing off on its own so i just got dosed with more hydrocortisone. Was gutted to be told i couldnt have any more that day.

Pain comes and goes. Some days (like today) its not really there at all, but other days painkillers are definately needed along with my pink fluffy ho***er bottle!

Not too sure what the aluminium should do for my crohn's but i do know its an antacid and its major side effect is constipation so was thinking GI is hoping we might get to mushy poo if i take it. Not 100% though.

Got some decent news today! i had a benefits medical few weeks back and i found out today i have been put in the support group (worst group) and due to this my money has gone up. An extra £20 a week. Chuffed to bits in one way, really down in another.

We have moved but are moving again in a couple of weeks. We're still waiting to exchange contracts on the new house, but we're almost there now!

I'm really sorry about that, Choc. Is there any chance they can set you up with Humira?

Could you please explain a little more about the support groups? We don't have that system here. What do they do? Do you talk about how to recover and get a job? What happens if you're too sick to go? Do you lose your benefits?

Anyway, yay for the extra twenty quid a week: that must help.

Which of the houses is the one with the extra bathroom?
