I wouldn't think miralax would affect it because miralax works by not letting your colon absorb fluids as much as normal. It doesn't actually stimulate your body to speed up.

Just to be safe, I'd call your doctor and ask them.

Oh, and the test is pretty easy. You just have to eat (I had scrambled eggs) then lay there for a while until my stomach emptied.

I agree with dawg...cut back on the miralax before taking the test. The test is painless and easy, but I haven't been able to eat scrambled eggs since eating the radioactive ones for the test....just a weird psychological reaction on my part:) I hope all goes well and you get good results. I have found the Domperidone, which is the medicine to treat gastroparesis very helpful.

I got Bells palsy(sp?) multiple times as a kid(have it now-part of nuerological issues). It just pops up at random. I had to wear an eye patch to Disneyworld one time when I had it. My mom told me to just not smile when I got my picture made Hahahahah!

You sound like you're in a hot mess of a situation with everything going on in your life :/ Thanks or making time to post back! I hope you aren't flaring also. I guess we shall see what the test shows and what medications he'll want to give me...If the drug works and doesn't cause bad side effects I'm willing to get it anyway(as long as it's legal ;) Any other medicines out there to treat it or are those two it?

Well, I have Crohn's in the Upper GI, as well as lower. My last upper scope showed Crohnic Gastritis(not a big shocker) and those symptoms weren't too bad at the time(mild nausea, constant belching, some vomitting and pain).

Fast forward these past few months and I've had EXTREME nausea, vomitting, and BAD stomach distension(sp?). Add to that, when I throw up, it could be chunks from a meal I had two days before. Of course I've had a loss of appetite. I can feel(and hear) the food when it passes out of my stomach which takes forever and is VERY painful. I feel a stabbing pain, burning, then I hear a loud swish and gurgle then the pressure goes away and my stomach slowly starts to deflate to its normal size(this makes me think a bowel obstruction/stomach ulcer too). I am to the point where I dread taking my medicine because that means eating food & I already feel full from. I honestly am full ALL the time. I'm never hungry so when I do eat I eat very high calorie foods. Oh yeah, obviously, I'm always constipated but I also have colon thickening and a swollen rectum so it's kind of hard to tell if that's from the lower GI or if I just have a slow GI system entirely.

All I know is that the Humira has NOT helped the upper GI symptoms.

Praying that you get to be on a good maintance medicine & get everything under control so you can live a 'normal' life. Whatever normal is... Hahahha
