High Blood Pressure and Crohns

Hi all, just wondering if anyone else had or is having problems with high blood pressure after being on meds to help for crohns.  I've been on Apriso, Entocort, and protonix since November after being diagnosed.  Shortly after, my gyno did blood work to check my hormone levels because i was fatigued, gaining weight and depressed.  My blood work showed hypothyroidism so now I'm on meds to get my TSH back to normal.  However, during my last 2 appts with my family dr. my blood pressure has been a bit too high which has me concerned so i've been checking it home.  Last check it was 156 over 105.  Could this be caused from the meds?  Or could it be another symptom of Crohns?  Any thoughts?

Good question, I'm not sure if she checked it our not.  I've always assumed when they take 3 tubes of blood its for a CBC.  Of course, they only tell you what's not normal when they get the results back. I go back for more blood work in 2 weeks so I"ll be sure to ask.  Thanks!

Taking pred for one year and a half and then switching to Entocort caused me high blood pressure. I've always suffered from very low blood pressure but thanks to pred. Well, I used to take Concor 5 when I was first diagnosed which was ineffective, so I was switched to Concor 5 Plus. However, my pressure sometimes gets high, other times low.
IMO, you need to check with your doc and ask him to prescribe a med for blood pressure.

I was having migraines before I stated on bp medication--my main symptom were dizziness, chest pain, and severe headaches which improved drastically when I started taking bp medication..My blood pressure was hitting like 160/100..HBP came on kind of fast..I suffered from low BP for years?? I did not have problems with cholesterol either thanks to predisone I now have a high free flow fat count in my blood??
