Is Laparoscopic Surgery Possible

I have had Crohns for 40 years and have had 2 surgeries and 3 resections of terminal ileum. I now have a stricture of 1.5 cm. with an opening of 4mm in terminal ileum. Has anyone had laparoscopic surgery after being cut open twice? I dread facing another cut and paste surgery with the recovery time involved at the age of 66.
GI says balloon dilation is too risky for perforation. I see surgeon this Monday...3/10/14 Thank you for any comments. Dianne

Hi, not sure whether it can be done laparoscopic. I have had 4 open surgeries twice for small bowel resections. Never had the choice. Hopefully someone will be along who maybe able to answer you question or who have had it done that way x
