It could be a boil or, hopefully not, a fistula that hasn't broken through. Either way, it needs to be addressed if you're still having pain or if it becomes hot, red, or has area swelling because you would probably need antibiotics. That kind of biking would have irritated whatever it is; that's a lot of compression and rubbing. (I used to bike a lot)
I have family members that have had to deal with boils, which are manageable. Usually they show up when they've been having other health issues. Crohn's would definitely fall into that category.
I agree that these benign fatty tumors, some doctors used to call them fat cells so as not to scare patients since they're not cancerous, don't usually hurt; my dad had several which we initially worried were boils. I do remember that his were rather hard though. I have a couple that are as you said somewhat soft and have been with me for decades.
