Hi, I have had an ingrown toenail for about 35 days now..it grew out and it seemed like it was gonna be fine, but now im considering having a podiatrist just to remove it...is that something any of you guys have done?
I am currently on pred 15mg, pentasa and 100mg oh 6mp. I feel like the infection isnt going away bc of the 6mp, but my doc says hes never had anyone have that problem. My fingernails are awful...its been 20 days of non stop pus and i cant take time off to see a doctor and when they give me an appt its too short notice to take time off, its a mess! The wonders of not being able to pay for private health insurance in MA are just marvelous! I have tried neosporin, hydro cortisone, fungal spray, soaking in salt. I can't even walk right anymore from wearing crocs all day to work and my fingernails are just absurd. 1 toenail and 5 fingernails currently are with some kid of infection and i have to believe that this is due to 6mp bc never have i had this before starting 6mp 3 months ago.
Should I be worried if I go get my toenail cut out by a podiatrist? would they put me on antibiotics? I have read online about amputations and im so terrified i have cried myself to sleep a couple times.
Thanks!
