tunnel.. well I have had a particularly bad case of crohns.. lots of strictures and fistulas.. ive had 14 resections and lots more other operations.. the main cause of the TPN was a strictureplasty that went bad and ruptured in dec of '99. the resulting gangrene infection and sepsis killed off most of the bowel I had left.. then more surgeries to fix thing and straighten out some things went bad in '00. I had 5 surgeries in 9 months.. well the last one went south and lost more of what I had left.. I have been on TPN since dec 17th of '99. so what I ws eventually left with is about 2.5 feet .. . I can still eat but I get almost no nutrition from it.. and with such short gut, anything I eat quickly leaves.. ;o).. but I do ok. whenever I go to the hospital for blood work (every week), I see lots of old Veterans way worse off than me. so if figure I kinda got off easy in the grand scheme of things.. .. randy
That's amazingly strong of you to have gone through what you've gone through and still think you got off easy. Inspirational. I'd say you had plenty rough of a time, but I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger :) You seem to have a superhero level of resilience and that is just amazing to see.
randynoguts has way more guts than anyone i've ever known :)
Congrats on your anniversary and I hope you have a really great holiday season.
