Starting a new job with Crohns

It is funny that the first thing you do is access your bathroom situation..It is in a high rise building with a multi-stall in an hallway outside of our office..I sit in the very back of the office in a corner..This means I have to go through the entire larger office out and into a hallway..so frequent trips may be noticeable..but nice-multi-stall..I just have had one episode so far that seemed like it was every hour on the hour and hoping no one would notice?? I think the single stall office environment has always been the worst..You have a nice kitchen so you can bring and prepare your own specialty food if needed..My benefits package (health insurance) is better along with an option after you are there for alittle while to work from home when needed (good for bad crohns days)..On salary, so a bad bathroom morning you are not worried about a time clock..Things only a Crohnie would be concerned about!!

Sounds like a winner! The last job I had was a nightmare for a Crohnie. One single stall bathroom for the whole floor I was on. It was also extremely high stress so right before I quit I was pretty sick and in there for days on end! Was just awful. But yes it is funny how we have to look at things most people wouldn't even think about!

Telling coworkers and the boss has always been an issue over the years as well. I don't disclose till I feel comfortable. I don't want to be labeled and want a chance to show my work quality first. I have had good experiences and bad experiences. In the first two weeks, I had one bad day. I need to do a stool sample and deliver it sometime during my work week ASAP, ugg. They want to check for Cdiff ect..I had blood taken, and I am worried about the results because I know I am flaring..I have had issues since the end of November, which I need further tests ect..I just started a new job and need to hold off, but I am now branded non-complaint with the treatment of this DD..As for my bathroom habits on a new job, I can always hope for the best..My worst experience was a single stall experience and trying to hide out only to know someone else a coworker need to go ugg..

After my last surgery 5 years ago I have been on Depends diapers. When a strong urge comes sometimes it leaks into the diaper as I walk towards the bathroom. A lot of these strong urges is to pass massive amounts of gas which puts pressure all the way down. My bigger problem is when I'm on the street where I don't know if I will find an available toilet. The other day I was having a mild urge and go inside a Walgreens, when I get to the bathroom it was locked with a combination. Went to the pharmacist and they try to summon a clerk to open it. Meanwhile I am holding for dear life,6-7 minutes later still no clerk. Go back to the pharmacist to out and open the bathroom but she refused, she calls the clerk through the intercom, still no clerk, I'm 10 minutes into this process. I take the risk of walking down the isles looking for the clerk, he was leisurely stocking the shelves. I stood there and demanded that he open the bathroom, he felt nervous about me standing there and said he will be right there. Eventually he came, to this day I don't know how I didn't crap my pants.
