Yes if this works it will be perfect, but the time to market is years. In 2005 I took part in the clinical trials for CNTO 1275 which was given by injection, took 8 full dose injections and went into remission. I was the 26th person in the world that took it, the first in California. My participation was 3 months, then the trial ended, the whole process took about 3 years. And the drug became Stelara which is used for Psoriasis, I wish they could have used it for Crohns.

The cost effectiveness of an oral drug is tremendous, on that alone they should introduce a trial in the US.

Ask your GI about any Crohns researchers in your city. The one I went to is Dr Dennis Riff in Anaheim California.

Right now I am on Entyvio which is generally available but early in its adoption.

I read the study and it does boast pretty impressive remission rates, but this was according to the Crohn's Disease Activity Index (which is largely symptom based) which has poor correlation with mucosal healing. It was also only a 2 week study so hopefully there is long lasting response. I can foresee a potential problem with upregulation of mRNA coding for Smad7 over time which may require dose escalation of morgensen and possible loss of response. I hope not!
