Anyone have any experience with intestinal transplants?

Hi, I am trying to touch base with some people who either have had an intestinal transplant themselves, or had a child or family member who did. I am in the process of trying to adopt a child who will need this due to Short Gut Syndrome and would like to gather as much information as possible for after the transplant has been completed.

I have a friend who was born with Short Bowel Syndrome, but he hasn't had a transplant. I don't think you'll find anyone on here who has had one.....since our problem is with our immune system attacking our digestive tract, getting a new digestive tract won't help much. We'd be more likely to reject it, and we would need everything (from mouth to anus) replaced. :/
