I have a friend who was born with Short Bowel Syndrome, but he hasn't had a transplant. I don't think you'll find anyone on here who has had one.....since our problem is with our immune system attacking our digestive tract, getting a new digestive tract won't help much. We'd be more likely to reject it, and we would need everything (from mouth to anus) replaced. :/
It's still quite rare, but intestinal transplants are performed for what's called "end-stage" Crohn's disease when a CD patient is unable to eat and has failed TPN, often combined with liver failure. You can read a summary of one study here: http://www.upmc.com/media/NewsReleases/2012/Pages/Transplant-Severe-Crohns-Disease.aspx
