NFL player suspended (and appealing) pot suspension

I saw this making the rounds yesterday:

The guy's getting a lot of crap for using the disease as an "excuse" for failing a drug test, which is a shame. I'm pretty sure in states where medical marijuana is legal that people can get prescriptions for Crohn's.

This is a big debate! I get mad at professional NFL players who get caught time and time again smoking that stuff. They act all sad and regretful but when it comes down to it, they're making millions of dollars and signed a contract. I would feel the same if a co-worker of mine got caught.
On the other hand, people like this player, I do feel something for them. If he was suffering I would want him to get relief. However, it's information he should have made available to his coach and the league so as to avoid exactly what has happened to him.
I wouldn't want MJ to become legal in the NFL for losers who abuse it. Just those who have a true need.
