Colour of blood from different parts of GI tract

Hi everyone!

This is more just a random question to satisfy my curiosity, but I was wondering what colour the blood (when it comes out) is from different parts of the colon?
Obviously bright red blood is usually from the rectum or sigmoid, and dark from the small bowel or TI. But what about the transverse and the descending colon? Any ideas?

medically speaking, like you say fresh bleeding is from lower down, typically lower colon and rectum,
and blood from high up ie stomach is usually dark/black. And inbetween darker reds.

It doesn't always work like that because it depends on transit time etc and the cause.
I had pretty bright red blood with my first flare up which was in my whole colon.
Any sort of blood though is obviously a concern, it is only really useful if bright blood changes to darker blood with a bleed as it would suggest the bleed is resolving.
