I saw a CRS 2 hours away with the hopes of starting the stem cell study soon. I was saddened to learn that the study won't be available in Canada for a year

He recommends doing a scope to see if I'm in clinical remission (rectal) and then he'd send me to another surgeon to see if he'll do a LIFT/FLAP. Problem is it's back at the hospital that did nothing except traumatize me for months and months last year. Apparently there isn't another surgeon in my province that does fistula repairs. I don't think I want to return to that place ever again!! Additionally, I'm not sure I'd be in remission although this week I've only been going twice. I still get anxious and take imodium if I'm going out to lunch or hiking etc. It's not that I have urgency, it's more that I don't want the anxiety of wondering if I'll go, plus pooping in a fast food joint isn't exactly ideal. I see my own GI in 2 weeks and will ask his opinion.
The only other place doing the Stem cells transplant is Mayo clinic FLa, which is not doable unless it's free to me.
DC---how are you doing in the study?
Clo---how are you feeling these days? Perhaps you can come up here to do the study with me!
