weight gain with cimzia?

Hi Maggie, I looked through the archives here at Healing Well & could not find anything about weight gain or hair loss resulting from Cimzia. I don't know where you read that Cimzia can cause these issues. One thing I try to caution people on is when reading online in various forums. Always remember, we never really know the person posting, in many forums, including Healing Well we sometimes see posts that are negative rather than success stories. I feel that people that are having success often don't hang out in forums because they are out living their life. All you can do is give the Cimzia a fair try. By chance have you looked at Cimzia's website? Often there are support boards that people will comment on. You may want to check out Cimzia.com.

Maggie, I forgot about the prednisone use. Listen to your nurse on this one. While pred can work it's wonders, its simply not a medication that should be used long term. I am completely floored that your dr has left you on it so long. Once again, I urge you to get another dr.

I do hope you have success with Cimzia. Both Cimzia & Humira are in the same category as Remicade. If for some reason it does not work for you, you need to get on Stelara.
