How many days do you miss work per year (average)?

If I were out two-three weeks per year, I would probably have been put on probation by now. I work for a private employer in the U.S., where there is not much (if any) sympathy for employees' illness. My colleague who joined the company 7 years ago was laid off last month, and he absolutely has no health issue. My company provides 7 sick days a year to every employee and I never used all of them, because I only use sick days for medical appointments. Even when my Chron's gets a little bad, I still go to work whenever I can.

Today's I read that my health insurance offers full coverage for remote video doctor's visits with no deductible and no co-insurance during the Covid-19 period. This is a good benefit during this difficult time for most people.

I probably miss one day a year for symptoms like pain and diarrhea. I tend to be careful what I eat during the work week to prevent taking time off. I take two or three weeks of sick time of year for things like doctor appointments, and fatigue. Calling in sick because I’m tired he’s a hard one, and I think the guilt I feel for doing that is probably only adds to my fatigue.
