Is she seeing a GI? Colorectal surgeon? Is she displaying IBD symptoms with her blood work indicating an active flare?
I have Crohn's and a colostomy. I was incontinent due to a recto vagina fistula and a never ending flare. Eventually we performed a colostomy. I had another obstruction with surgery... And then a 3rd surgery to remove my Hartman's pouch and scrap the rectal cuff. I have been unable to find anything that would stop the periodic pain, cramping and urgency I still have.
The best it's been is when I was on daily Cipro, weekly methotrexate, and monthly Remicade. Perhaps someone else will come along with better information/news. I am in the Dallas Tx area. I have a complex case. I go to Dallas Baylor University Hospital for medical care. I have also gone to UTSW hospital. They referred me back to Baylor. My best/favorite doctor's there are colorectal surgeon Dr. Warren Lichliter and GI Dr. Dassopolous. There is also a hospital in Houston that I have considered going to. (I have family down there and when I go see them I want to make sure I have a plan B) The Mayo Clinic is also wonderful if you are willing to travel.
I am so sorry your daughter is having pain. I hope you all find something that works.
