Cipro/Flagyl - horrible headache

Hi all...  Last Tuesday (5 days ago) I was put on the Cipro/Flagyl cocktail.  Cipro 500mg 2/day & Flagyl 250mg 3/day.  Starting yesterday I have had the worst headache I can remember in years.  I took 1000mg tylenol and it did nothing.  I confess to popping Advil.  (Now I feel like a junkie!  j/k!  ;-)  ) 

Anyway, it seems like every drug you read the side effects for lists headaches.  What I'm wondering is if anyone on here directly relates headaches to either Cipro or Flagyl.  I don't remember this from previous experiences.

I can't be dehydrated unless something else is seriously wrong.  I've had about 36 oz water between 8am and 3pm.  I just don't get it.  It's so bad that I am having trouble typing and that is *not* normal for me!  I just want to curl up.

I've been on both cipro and flagyl for years and have never had headaches from them....I do suffer from migraines so I can sympathize with the frustration of a bad headache...hope you feel better soon...

Thanks goldy3... I've never had a headache with it either. I guess it's just an odd coincidence. I've never had a migraine and I can say how very thankful I am for that! This headache is bad enough. And my head just feels wobbly. Oh well. Thanks again and be well!

I am taking flagyl right now for the second time in a couple of weeks, same dose as you and i have had a killing headache for almost two weeks.  I hurts to look at my computer screen.  I am taking about 40 mg of morphine and tylenol and it helps kinda sometimes, not a lot.  I think it is one of those things that you have to suffer through. I've also got a lot of other symptoms going on the headache is just one of the many.

My daughter also got headaches, as well as nausea when she took Cipro/Flagyl. We realized it was the Cipro so her G.I. suggested she try just going on Flagyl only and the headaches and nausea went away.

Yep, headaches for me too.  I take tylenol daily with it and I don't let it get to the point of bad.

Same cocktail and having ocular migraines with h/a for 3 days now, it's awful sorry for anyone who has to endure this all in the name of healing.

Never had a headache on either. I wear glasses so I wouldn't even know what a real headache feels like. The last one I remember must have been over fifty years ago. If I ever feel a headache coming on I can just will it away with my mind almost instantaneously.
