Anyone with gal badder issues?

Quick update on my Daughter,

Shes transitioned from Remicade to Stelara a few months back. Seemingly not having any issues, but has complained of some bodyaches, which I had posted about. More recently though, she started having upper abdominal pain. Very intense, and often after eating.

Her GP is suspecting gal stones, and is sending her for an ultrasound next week. Can't believe we didn't clue into this, as my wife, (who shes a carbon copy of), had her gal bladder out at the same age. Seems like a genetic history as well, a several of my wifes relatives did as well.

Anyone here have any gal bladder issues or removal? I'm not too worried if this turns out to be the case, as the surgery isn't too invasive, and if they time it between her Stelara dosing, she might do okay. Bit of a wait and see right now.

I had a lot of upper right sided pain that went through to my upper back & shoulder. In time I started throwing up whenever I ate anything.

I had an upper gi & I did not have any stones. My dr ordered a HIDA Scan & the test showed my gallbladder was not functioning as it should.

I had it taken out & that took care of the problem. It was the easiest surgery that I have ever had done. It was done as a laproscopic surgery, surgery that morning, home late afternoon. The worst part for me was the gas they blow you up with caused a good deal of pain for about 2 days. With that said I was told to walk, then walk a little more & that took care of it.

Tom, the surgery did not have any affect on my crohns. The one thing that often happens after getting the gallbladder out is the bile acids causing diarrhea, however, this can happen to anyone. I took Welchol to handle this, it worked the best for me compared to the others.
