My GI is bumping my Stelara up to every 4 weeks. We got insurance approval today. I often feel fatigued the day after taking Stelara and so I usually take it on Fridays so I have the weekend to rest if I need it.

I'm debating about the timing. I do have my next dose, if I take it tonight, how do I get back on a Friday schedule. Would I take it a few days early to get back on the Friday schedule next month?

I've got signs of mild inflammation and am experiencing symptoms, but don't really expect immediate results even if I take it tonight. My GI seems to be reluctant to put me on a round of steroids, which I appreciate on one hand and kind of want to help tamp everything down.

Anyone have any advice on timing this out?

The only way to get back on the Friday schedule is to hold it until then. I don't think waiting a few days will make a big difference at all. Who knows, once you get on the 4 week schedule the tiredness may disappear, that would be great.

I would avoid steroids unless I was really bad off.

My Daughter just went through the exact same change. She's also been moved to every 4 weeks on Stelara. Has had a couple of doses now, and she says she notices a definite improvement. She also was a few days late on one, but it didn't seem to make any difference at all.

As for insurance coverage. He benefits wouldn't cover going to every 4 weeks. So now her benefits will continue covering half, and her Stelara co-ordinator has arranged coverage for the other.

That's good to hear a success story. This is really the first medication I've been able to tolerate for more than a year. It's been 3 years so I hope this will get me back in remission and feeling better.
