Can you continue biologics treatment when you have a cold or flu?

I am being treated by Humira. about 3 weeks ago I developed sore throat and fever, which only lasted a day. But my cough persisted. Can I continue Humira?

My GI seemed to recommend me continue with Humira, which is helping me a lot. But she mentioned that Humira might slow my recovery from an infection. Is that true?

I had my small bowel resection surgery in March 2023. A few months after my surgery, I experienced abdominal pains, which later proved to be a false alarm. My recent stool calprotectin level, blood test of adalimumab/antibody, MRE all show that I am in remission. I put high priority on my Crohn's than anything else. Right now I am just fighting this persistent cough. My internist called it Post Viral Cough Syndrome.

Hi, Susie: I am taking Ricola original herb cough drops and Dextromethorphan to manage my cough. I might try honey & lemon. I think I have some honey leftover from a couple of years ago. Thanks

I'm on Remicade.... But as long as I do not have a fever or signs of a bacterial infection we do the infusion.

When I was suffering from lingering coughing and asthma after being ill with a sore throat/cold/cough it seemed to help with that ... But I felt more fatigue than I usually did and it continued for.another 8 weeks with intermittent periods of coughing.. I actually had 1 infusion right after being ill and another 6 weeks later. But no fever in the 5-7 days before the infusions. They both helped with the coughing.
