New Issue (s) Vaginal bleeding and some kind of infection ...really need advice

I am 52 and its been a year since I had my period

I have a rectalvaginal fistula - and for months have had lots of discharge ; mostly front .. went to gyn who pretty much said ..no infection , so if you can deal with it ..deal with it ...

Don't think he really knows anything about crohns or the seriousness of fistuals ... then saw my GI who took some blood tests and had the nurse call to say all was fine and dandy !!!

okay ...2 months later ... I am in agony with burning , itching ...and now lots of bleeding

its as if I have my period ...but I know the color of the blood is different ...its like a bright red pinkish color .. but lots of it ..

and I am in pain down there ...

on top of that ..I have no insurance right now ...I had made an appt with the gyn for Friday but cancelled because it was going to cost me 140 dollars ... which I didn't have ...

What I need to know is this ....does any one think this "could" be my period ? Could I get it after a year ? Could this be the reason for this horrible infection I feel ? OR ... is the blood because of the infection and or fistuals ??

I tell you ....this ONLY happens when I dont have insurance !! All the years i have insurance I am fine ... then wham !! and I have a new job too...so I can't get sick now ...

Hi at the age you are at yes you could be having a period.Menapause is full of fun plans all it's own. Just keep a eye on things. lol gail

I have had similar things happen to friends of mine. One lady at work would have this happen alot and her Gyn ended up having to do a uterine scraping or something like that. Do keep an eye on it. Are you going to be getting insurance with this new job?
