so much gas and bloating

Hi,
I recently doubled my pentasa to 12 pills a day after a 6 week long flare up. It cleared up the flare up and my diet has been able to return to normal but since then I have been having horrible gas and bloating.
I've been taking gas x but it only seems to make me non-stop gassy for hours after wards, not fun.
Does anyone have some advice to help relieve the symptoms?

When I have alot of gas, it's usually because my stomach is making way too much acid, then the acid turns into gas.

I like zantac, I use the 300mg tablets once a day.

You might also want to consider that you may have bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine causing the gas and bloating. You could try a good mixed probiotic but I'd suggest you ask your doctor about the possibility of bacterial overgrowth.

I got bad gas bloating and diarrhea when I tried Lialda. I wonder if it could be your increased dosage in meds. Did you check to see if it is a side effect?
