Surgery next Tuesday!!!

Well that's the quickest doctors visit ever. He came in, told me he had spoken to my GI, he really wanted
to build me up with TPN, but decided 2 months of feeding was too long to wait. So of to pre op screening I
was sent. I have to be at the hospital at 5.30 on the 19th ( an ungodly hour), but at least I wont have to
wait around. Geez I haven't even had time to draw breath, BUT I'm hopeful that going through this again
will all be worth it. I can be pain free and hopefully build up some badly wasted muscle and body mass.

I wish you well and hope your surgery brings you a long time of feeling better.  My husband went 17 years between surgeries.  He had a stricture that kept getting worse until the endoscopy could not get past it so to surgery he went for his 4th surgery in 2010.  He is doing well now.

My prayers are with you.

Hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery. Remember get up and walking as soon as you are able, it really helps.

Ohhhh my . Hate to see you need to be cut on but if it gets you to feeling better thats what you need to do. Hope your in and out in a flash and doing much better before you know it . Big hug and as always your in my prayers. Keep us up to date and post if you can from hospital. If not as soon as you can, we worry you know .

Sniper I will try and take my husbands laptop, so I'll have that in one hand and the PCA pump in the other!!

Thanks again guys. I also hope for relief that lasts and lasts. The only thing that is concerning me
right now, is the fact, the surgeon initially thought I needed 2 months of TPN, so obviously I'm in
need of nutrition. So I don't know how my poor state will affect surgery and recovery!!

Vicky, before my Feb. surgery, I did my b12 shot and took extra iron. I was still low in iron after surgery and was extremely tired. I slept more with this last surgery than any I'd ever had, but I also had a hysterectomy along with the resection, so maybe that's why too.

My pre-op told me to stop all supplements and vitamins about a week or so before surgery. I guess since you're having your surgery soon, maybe you can ask your surgeon when it's okay to start iron or maybe they can give you vit. infusions in the hospital...?

I had no major complications with my recovery. Hope yours goes just as well! Let us know how things are going when you're up to it.

Best wishes for as speedy recovery as was the docs move to get you inot surgery!  I am hoping you can have 20+ years post surgery like I have.
