An urgent question, plz?

1) Typically you are prescribed a folic acid supplement to take daily if you are taking MTX for Crohn's. In cancer treatment, blocking your body's use of folic acid is the desired outcome. In Crohn's, it is not, and is just an unfortunate side effect. So we typically take folic acid supplements. If you were not told to take folic acid supplements, I would suggest talking with your doctor about it.

2) I don't know much about Pentasa and Methotrexate. It is my understanding that drugs like Pentasa can inhibit your body's ability to process MTX and so you end up with increased levels of MTX and consequently, increased side effects. Presumably your doctor has taken this into account, but it sounds like a good subject to bring up with him before you start the MTX.

No problem. All of this medication is confusing, especially when doctors don't really take the time to explain to you everything that has been considered. In this age of google, everyone has fairly quick access to a drug's side effects, interactions, and loads of information. I think doctors need to start taking that into account and giving a little bit more information about why the decision is being made, and why some of the information you might read will not apply to you. That being said, maybe the onus is on us to bring it up with our doctor.

I imagine your doctor has taken into account the interaction between Pentasa and MTX (I would hope so!). And I would hope that he planned to get you on folic acid supplements too - my doctor didn't mention it originally, but just quietly prescribed it to me along with the MTX. A good conversation with your doc should help with the confusion. :)
