This is my first time posting on here although I read the forum frequently. I had a bowel resection 12/11 and at that time diagnosed with Crohns.
I can deal with the abdominal pain and tenderness, have for yrs but the rectal pain is out of control. Approx 5 months ago I had a colonoscopy. Dr removed a polyp and found inflamation at my resection sight. Since then I have had frequent rectal pain including throbbing, swelling and my tailbone, butt cheeks and vaj hurts. My GI Dr gave me lidocaine/hydrocortisone cream and tramadol which does nothing when the pain is severe. Then he gave me Rectiv stating my sphincter muscle was pulling and needed to be relaxed. That again did nothing and he refered me to a colon-rectal surgeon. The surgeon to whom I was refered stated he wanted to send me to another specialist because I had my sphincter muscle was cut 10 yrs ago and my rectal problems were too advanced for him. I then was examined by the next colon-rectal surgeon that stated I have alot of inflamation but no fissure and prescribed an anti imflamatory supository Those have not stopped the rectal pain. I have been using prep-h for roids cuz an ER Dr told me I had roids. That at times somewhat helps.
Any suggestions ?
