Believe me, you don't want to have Crohn's in jail. I'm a Correctional Officer. I've seen a few inmates with Crohn's in jail over the last few years. I never paid much attention to that particular medical condition before my Daughter was diagnosed, but of course since then, I've become really sympathetic to inmates that have Crohn's.
Especially if they're in jail for a petty crime, or just a bad circumstance.
Inmates see a GP as needed, but have to request it, and then it's sort of prioritized. The Doctors make money for seeing as many inmates as they can in a day. So you can see that they don't want to spend much time with anyone.
Most GP's don't really know how to deal with Crohn's, so they might prescribe pain meds. I really try to help these inmates, and often end up giving them more information than they've ever recieved medically.
