I was released from the hospital yesterday after 8 days. I had scar tissue adhesions removed Tuesday morning. I didn't start passing gas at all until Friday but was able to have my NG tube removed Friday and ate clear liquids Saturday. I got a bit ill from them, didn't vomit or need medication but was unable to have a bowel movement. I finally had one Yesterday and the nurse said she could have me discharged that day since it appeared everything was moving normal again. I am not on any sort of diet restriction and cannot go to work so I am just stuck at home until I can get cleared to go to work.
What concerns me Is that I haven't had a bowel movement since I left and haven't been really getting hungry. I have only eaten a Peanut butter sandwhich since Saturday morning. Could it be because I haven't been eating? I guess if there isn't any input..there won't be much output. Would snacking and small meals here and there help work my appetite back up? I am on Pred 40mg, which I know ramp your appetite up but haven't seen it yet. It's only been 24 hours I guess but I remember when I left the hospital after my first surgery 6 years ago I was eating a chicken sandwich within 20 minutes of leaving the hospital. \
Would walking around help?
