Look into Remistart. They will help pay what your insurance doesn't cover. Your GI's office should know about it; if they don't, google it and you can find their website and the forms you need.
The problem with starting and then stopping is that you can build up antibodies and not be able to start again. When you first start, your initial doses have to be at 0 weeks, 2 weeks, and 6 weeks, then you go to every 8 weeks (usually). There isn't a snowball effect after that - in fact, many people start seeing symptoms a few days before their infusion. So it really only works while you're doing treatment.
