Are there any specific enema treatments available for Crohn's of the large intestine/rectum?

Just curious. Are there any specific enema treatments available for Crohn's of the large intestine/rectum?

I had a subtotal colectomy last year and still have my "stump" - rectum + part of sigmoid colon. Even though it is disconnected from the typical digestive flow, it seems I am in the midst of a flare down there. While not painful or causing me TOO much trouble at the moment, I am going to the bathroom about once a day and it's fairly bloody. (I call it "number three", since "number two" is now the ostomy...)

I know enemas are a popular treatment for UC, but haven't seen much for Crohn's. Has anyone used anything in the past outside of a biologic to alleviate inflammation in this one specific spot?

Oh my goodness! I have the same problem except during my first emergency surgery, they didn't remove my colon because I was too unstable. I have had a loop for two years now.

I had a flex sig last week and it was horrendously painful. Surgery is being scheduled for October now to remove everything and make the loop into an end. I have "number 3's" (love that btw!!!!!) lots....in fact if I roll over in bed at night it wakes me up.

I asked the surgeon about anything I can use to help with the pain, blood and spasms until surgery and he said at this point it was unlikely anything would work.....so I suffer until October I guess.

If you find anything else out, let me know. October is still a ways away to be suffering like I am.
