But i'm happy with it! So I was supposed to be on Bentyl before for what I deemed a sketchy IBS diagnosis (from a GI I didn't exactly trust). Well I've been taking it again per instructions twice daily and guess what? No or minimal D and next to no urgency issues. I'll take what I can get!!! Much better results than the welchol as it caused awful belly cramps and gas.

I'm glad you're getting a bit of relief. I used to take it, especially before I got diagnosed with Crohn's (misdiagnosed with IBS for 25 years). Sometimes I would be changed back and forth from Bentyl to Librax, since one would stop working as well after a while. If I remember correctly, the body gets used to it if you use it very regularly. One old doctor preferred atropine, and it's a wonder I hadn't keeled over due to the sedation.

So, if it stops working as well, you didn't jinx yourself, it's the nature of the medication.

lamb....that is good news. Hey if its fixing an issue even if not the issue you thought...still like having a "fix". I have some bentyl in the bottom of my medicine drawer. GI gave it to me when I said I was feeling really nauseous and queasy....we thought I was heading for a flare and he didn't want to give me prednisone so he gave me something (bleah).
I took one and got more nauseous so I never took another. With the new CREST dx, I think that nausea may have been the esophageal issues and not a CD flare....so I may try the bentyl again if I need some...fortunately, I still love my cholestyramine.
