sores in mouth

I have had crohns for about 25 years. I have never had this happen to me. If anyone has had this happen, pls tell me what you did to help it. I have fever blisters on the inside of my mouth...all over the bottom of my lips...at the bottom of my gums..on the inside of my cheeks also, and its on my throat. Omg it hurts like fire..I can only eat oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and pancakes...it even hurts to drink. Everything burns it. I went to my regular dr..he gave a liquid steroid to mix with childrens benadryl and an antibiotic....well that wasnt helping, then he called me in some litacaine..i took it about two hours ago....didnt really help at all. Is this from crohns? I am assuming it is....its horrible...pls someone tell me what i can do for some relief....thanks everyone

I am so sorry you are going thru this. I get clusters of cold sores on the inside of my mouth and down my throat. I eat a lemon with salt on it. I gargle with applecider vinegar and salt. It burns like the Dickens but so far that's what helped me. I've had to take steroids for it. Ice pops helped some but for me....the lemon and salt helped clean them out.

I just got something similar and am not sure what to do to get rid of it. It's large painful blister thing. I used to get lots of mouth ulcers with crohns but it's been a while since the crohns has been active enough to cause that so thinking this is more like an infection of some sort. Hope some of the suggestions made by others help

Yes, you can get aphthous ulcers in the mouth with crohns. They are fairly common extra-intestinal manifestation I think. I often get a ton of them before a flare or during it, especially a bad one. sometimes its from inflammation while other times its from infections. I think with crohns even if the disease may seems localized to one part of the intestine you still have active inflammation in your body so it can cause trouble anywhere.
