Sedimentation rate, along with C-reactive protein, are blood markers that measure inflammation in the body. The should only be used as guidelines, and when excessively elevated, further diagnostics are warranted.
You'll find normal rates between 20 and 30mm, but it's normal to be higher than that with age.
I'm really not sure what is considered high or too high. I've heard of many with autoimmune disorders that show 80 to 130mm.
Best to discuss this with your GI, but I don't think slightly higher rates are big concerns.
