Ileitis diagnosis

Hi, I just joined here as I can't find any answers anywhere else and I hope you can help me.

I have had a heap of gastro problems over the past year. I'm diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, gastritis, gallstones, and since last Monday when I had a colonoscopy, diverticulosis and Ileitis.

It's this ileitis that worries me as I read it's most commonly found in Crohn's disease. I was due to see my GP a few days ago and planned to ask him but I was too fatigued to get out the house that day and they wouldn't allow me a phone appointment instead.

So I'm left waiting. I've had some worrying bowel type symptoms for over a year, mainly constipation, that builds up so badly I end up having extremely urgent trips to the toilet, passing very large extremely painful bloody stools. This is despite eating fibre and drinking litres of water and taking stool softeners. I was told the bleeding was just from tearing, but on closer examination there is no evidence of this at all. When I found out my grandmother died of bowel cancel in her 50's, they said they would do the colonoscopy.

I haven't noticed any ileum type pain... But I do have gallbladder pain on my lower right side radiating to my back and shoulder abc gastritis pain that's so severe I have almost passed out and couldn't tell you where it's coming from.

I'm overweight my BMI is 27, I struggle with weight loss, so never expected anything like crohns to be the problem. But my nausea and fatigue is off the scale bad now. I can't work at the moment because nobody wants an employee that doesn't get out of bed for their shifts.

I'm really hoping I don't have crohns, but if not this what else could it be?

Hi, thank you. I've had a multitude of tests, I'm not celiac, but I don't believe I've been tested for lactose, which is interesting because I avoid it anyway as milk triggers my asthma. I do try not to jump the gun, it's just when you go online and look up ileitis, crohns floods the search results. So it's hard not to wonder.

I'm having my gallbladder removed in about a month. I was hospitalised with the pain in December and they decided it needed to come out.

I can't help but worry myself sometimes, my fatigue makes me feel like I'm dying, it sounds melodramatic but I go for weeks on end feeling like I'm just shutting down. I guess I'm desperate to find a cause, and get myself better.

Are you on any medications currently (not meds for Crohn's, but meds for any other things)? And do you ever take NSAIDs (like aspirin or ibuprofen)?

Did your doctor do stool tests to rule out any infections?

How was the gastritis diagnosed - via an upper endoscopy with biopsies? If so, what did those biopsies show?

And as NCOT said, what do your biopsies from your colonoscopy show?

It might be Crohn's, but it's not a sure thing (yet?). And if it is, it's possible that some of the other health problems you have - like chronic fatigue and gastritis - are actually from Crohn's and may improve with proper treatment of Crohn's (if that turns out to be what you have).
