Hello Fellow IBD(ers)!
Been awhile since I've been on the forum board so I hope this isn't going to be a repetitive question. I had a good insurance plan that covered my Humira or so I thought until the Rx end of it changed providers the beginning of the year. I was using my insurance & Abbvie's savings card to pay in full for my Rx until I reached my annual limit on the savings card at the end of April! Yikes! My insurance pays 60% leaving me the remaining sum of $5451.00 per month out of pocket. (I am required to take weekly injections instead of biweekly). I am a moderate to severe crohn's patient with psoriatic arthritis as well & can't afford this copay! Medicare Part D is not an option for me for another two years because of my age and/or the fact that I have not filed for disability. I continued to work until July of last year when the pharmacy I worked for was sold. My husband is retired & I am on his insurance. We both are trying to hold out another two years to obtain social security. We make to much for Medicaid, but not enough to meet the copay on pension..HELP! All suggestions welcome! Also, has anyone transitioned from Humira to a biologic similar drug? Is that possible? What was your experience with the transition?
