Seroquel at night

Hi all-
I have been taking Seroquel at night to help with sleep. I was wondering if anyone else who takes or has taken this has a hard time waking or feel very unsteady when walking if you don't get to your sleeping place fairly quickly?

I used to take seroquel to sleep for a year ish. Don't know how long you've taken it, but the most common side effect (says my doctor) is weight gain. Be aware of that, watch your appetite. I gained 30 pounds overall from that and Zoloft combined.
Anywho, back to your question: Yes, if I didn't get enough sleep I had a heck of a time waking up in the morning and I was irritated. Also, I took this at night, but when I didn't get at least 10 hours of sleep I was groggy in my classes and either falling asleep or just being irritable because I was tired. My teachers did NOT like me that year. I'd just be aware that if you only allow like 7 or 8 hours for sleep, with seroquel, that won't be enough I don't think. Unless you don't mind waking up drowsy and irritable.

I take seroquel XR at night (currently at 150 mg & have been on it for about a month) as an antidepressant adjunct/for poss bipolar II, and although it does not make me sleepy or tired the next day, the side effects you describe are very common.

Recently, I forgot to get a prescription from my doc (he had previously been supplying me with samples) & I ran out of the meds I had on hand over the weekend. Fortunately, my father is a physician & he was able to bring me home some more samples from his office, but he did not have any of the XR on hand. As such I had to take the regular seroquel (not the XR that I normally take) for a few days & I did notice a big difference. My father told me that there was little difference between the XR and the regular, but the regular seroquel made me very lethargic and unsteady.

me 1200mg. has pooped a bit, been on it 7yrs. just started taking melatonin with it. much better upon waking. use to wake up alike the walking dead, and need a plethera of double coffeees to get me movig. take care, jamie.
