What browser are you using? When I moved to Chrome, that happened to me. But I think something got installed with it when I installed Chrome. I just went in Control Panel and install a program and that I saw installed as well. I think the name was 'Ad Block' or something like that. You can check to see if this is causing the problem.

Michele, JB, Karen: Depression does sucks! I hope you all feel better soon.

I'm need to get a cooling pad for my laptop. I'm going to try to get that today. It will be a task for me. Haven't been out the house since dad's passing except to make arrangements. I really don't feel like going anywhere at all.

Good morning all ........

   I noticed someone saying a cold front came in .... did here too!!! At 7:30am it was 23 degrees, windy and light flurries. Almost didn't notice - it is sunny though!

   No dogs walkin out there this morning ... time to keep the tush warm!!!

   It does seem like there's a ton of s**t going on out there with many of us. Michele ... you've been getting it for awhile now ... hope the counselor meeting goes well.

   Karen .... hope your birthday was a good one - besides the after effects. I have come down so far in alcohol consumption in the last three + years, I can feel - what you said!!!! I average about 2 drinks a month now!

   UA ...... thank you so much about asking if I got the call. I was waiting for two calls - from each daughter. My youngest, as usual, shows she cares. The oldest, as usual, shows she doesn't! So I got one of the two calls I was hoping for.

   Mags ...... hope your flea market goes well. Other than that - your story for days now has had me thinking about my dear Bear who I lost 19-months ago. He'll be looking forward to chasing squirrels with Sally!

   And I hope this darkness gets better for Trina and the house from hell, JB1 and the meds, AV and anxiety, Myself and better school districts - and all those others into the depths of short days!!!

   about another 30-days ... and the days start getting longer!

Ya know what?

I just had a great idea. Even though I really don't have the money for it.

My birthday is Wednesday. I'll be thirty something again! I've decided to get my haircut by my old stylist. She's pricey but worth it. My neighbor has been cutting my hair for free because I take her children to school a couple of days a week. But why not treat myself? I think I will also schedule a mani/pedi. Nothing like some pampering to make yourself feel better. Like I said, I will probably regret it down the road when bills come in but how often do you turn thirty something again? I am going to go call and make the appointments!

You have to do it sometimes! Go, get a nice cut and feel pampered. I have been debating setting up a massage next week.

Feel better Karen! Some days are just cranky-butt ones.

I am headed downstairs to rip out the summer/fall flowers. BF is up in the attic setting up his new bicycle trainer. Later, errands and groceries and stiff, oh my.

My throat is really raw, so I am bundled up with my hiking scarf around the throat. It's cold for here, around 45.

Sally is still kickin' it...ate 3 scrambled eggs...I wish I had her tenacity.

We went to the crafts market-lovely park right on the beach. I remember what an awesome place I live in and am very grateful. about 20 vendors with local produce, jewelry, all sorts of cool handmade stuff. Very friendly-it felt good to get out and talk and laugh with people-this is good medicine for me. I went 12-14 days sometimes not leaving the house-soooo anxious and exhausted by it/

Michele-hope u are feeling better.Hope yr son finds work-it is really rough out there especially for teens w/ no experience. Heard it was SNOWING in Dallas!! And definitely go for the haircut and mani-you deserve it!

Myself-hope you feel better too-don't overdo it today. Come home, jammie up and drink some nice herbal tea.

Rob-as always ,love yr travels w/ Giz and thanks for the kind words...I have been blessed with alot of great dogs in my life and I still remember each one with that kinda sad smile but glad I got to have them in my life. How long after Bear passed did you get Giz?

UA-my sincere condolences on your Dad's passing. Mine passed in 07 and I think of him every single day but now it is with warmth and gratitude, instead of that profound choking grief. Try, just try to get out-don't stay out too long but do it! Our first baby steps...

Karen-hard to imagine you all cranky-lol-but we all have those, just go with the flow. Everyday cannot be Christmas..stay warm

JB-negative attracting negative makes sense and life must be in balance, yin and yang, push and pull, light and dark...everyone I know has SOME toxic people in their family especially in a group. I don't remember one Thanksgiving dinner at my parents' home without major drama-couldn't wait to leave.LOL It got better when we got older. The holidays are hard-so much pressure to "Martha Stewart" it up. I amm 60 now and I keep it simple. I DO decorate the house cause I love that. I narrowed down card list to 20 or so, gifts for the young people and my stepdaughter and I alternate xmas dinner (usually non-traditional like steaks and grilled veggies) And now I am doing pressed flower art so my giftsw are all done-lol...keep it light

I feel like I am entering a new chapter in my life, that the door in the dark room of my mind has cracked open and some light is seeping in. Part is meds but most of it has been hard work (and alot of prayer and introspection) My priorities are dfalling into place and I am approaching forgiving myself. With forgiveness, comes peace and your true creative self can express itself. I am afraid that if I speak too loud about it, I might scare it off, this recovery so i am treading lightly, but definitely moving forward.
Pretty cool, huh?

EMBRACE YOUR NEW CHAPTER IN LIFE!

   Note ..... I have just had 4-dogs my entire life - and the last 3 were my choice for the most part.

   Bear, a Norweigan Elkhound, was just past 14-years old when I got Gizmo - at the age of about 12-weeks old. So .... I had both at the same time for almost 10-months.

   Bear, of course, was so old he didn't want anything to do with Giz as a puppy. They got along well - at least no bites!!! It was funny .... every time the pup wanted to play with Bear ... Bear would give one little growl ... Giz would jump back - then leave him alone for awhile.

   I think Bear did exactly what an older dog should do. He taught Gizmo to respect the space of other dogs.

   Why aren't humans that wise?

   Just a dog lover talking!

By the way ........ 12 to 14-days in the house is way too long.

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better Michele. Hope you continue to feel better. You deserve to treat yourself for birthday. A nice haircut sounds good. Celebrate! You deserve it!
Ohh, I needed to get a cooling pad for my laptop. It's like an extra fan to keep it cool. It's placed underneath the laptop. My laptop has been overheating since a couple months now.
I wasn't lucky though. They were sold out so felt like I made a waste run since I wasn't up for going anywhere. I got some movies though, hopefully that'll keep me distracted.

Rob/Mags: Thanks for the sympathy. It's two weeks since... I'm glad I have all my HW friends/family during this tough time.

Rob: I'm sorry the oldest didn't call. Hope this will change in the future and she will start showing she cares.

Myself: Take care of yourself. Hope your throat feels better.

It's cold here too. Been raining a lot. My knees still hurts which means more rain here.

Hope folks are feeling a little better today, at least emotionally. That cold snap is KILLIN me bones. My daughter and hub both told me this am that they were proud of me and how far I have come. I wanted to cry. I realized they DO understand somewhat what a battle this disease is...it meant so much to me, so I am a grateful, hurting old bag this morning. Katie starts work on wed and works turkey day-yah!

We dropped twenty degrees last night. The wind is blowing, and we have wind chills approaching zero.

The cold has moved down into the chest, so I am staying in today, making Marcella Hazan's bolognese sauce, watching football, wearing fleece, and resting. BF wants me to go to walk-in clinic tomorrow. I might, after work.

Scratches to puppies both strong and blind, air hugs to friends to keep my germs to myself.
