Heck yeah, Rob! I've watched the Little League World Series since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. We used to live in Taiwan (Air Force father), and he was a coach. What a sport!

And, yep to Chicago Speedway. Cool about Road America, but what a pisser about not being able to run your Subaru on the Chicago track! (I think I mentioned that I have a 2010 Outback.)

Very exciting about your daughter being there soon. If you think of it, ask her if she knows of Threadgill's. Or the oldie goldie Armadillo World Headquarters? (THE old concert hall!) Austin used to be my stompin' grounds--and Threadgill's is pretty popular. The fellow who had Armadillo opened Threadgill's years ago. I say that if you're gonna live anywhere in Texas, it's gotta be Austin. (How old is this one of your daughters?)

Glad the nurse's squeeze felt so good. Wish we could all contribute in a one-at-a-time hug!

Karen: I'm sorry you experienced those side effects. I hope you will feel better. Have fun picking Blackberries tomorrow.

Rob, Michele, Jan, anyone else who would like to listen to my flat tyre and work story:
I did not change the flat tyre. I don't think I could *shame*. My uncle came by the same time to collect some tools, so he changed it for me. I was relieved.
The first thing that came to my mind when this happened was my dad. But he was not here so I couldn't go to him.
When my uncle came, it made me realize that although dad is not here anymore, he's still looking out for me.

Work is still very overwhelming. I did apologize to the co-worker I had the falling-out with. He was happy I did. He said it was really big of me taking responsibility. He did not apologize for his crap though, and I did not mention it. I just told him I should not of acted that way, etc., etc., etc.
Since I apologized, he's talking to me normal. I still feel a bit bad though.

Last week a manager was went on vacation. She asked me to overlook 2 of her store. There were a lot of inventory discrepancies. I tried my best to get it sorted. I dislike seeing inventory with variances. I also answered their calls and always tried to be there when they needed for those few days.
She sent an e-mail notifying us that she's back out to work. One of her branches that I was overlooking replied to all in the e-mail, saying a special thank you to me for all the support and assistance, etc.

Oh my, that manager is furious with me. Why? For being nice to the branches and helping them.

This happened last year too... Another manager left for vacation and left me in charge of 1 of her branches. Apparently when she returned, they asked her if I can remain in charge of them.
I only found out about this a couple months ago from my boss. But after the managers return, she was a bit 'cold' with me and I didn't know why.

I have been a bit down lately. My neck and back have been paining a lot lately as well. The past few weeks have been painful. Did nothing on weekends really. I did not wash my car for 5 weeks. My mom washed it last week after seeing the condition. I washed it today.

Things have been very rough with the bf and I lately. I met him yesterday. I thought were we going to go our separate ways but it didn't happened. We're still trying. It's really hard though. We don't really spend much time together or see each other often. I believe that our communication is poor. We'll see what happens.
This has me down as well.

UA, my dad made me learn to change a tire but I'm not sure I could do it now. I do know that I don't have the proper tools! A friend and I were just discussing that we wished there classed that teach maintenance stuff for cars. Stuff like changing tires, spark plus, and etc. I'm glad you are feeling your dad's presence.

Karen, the medication thing was something my dr said contributed to my bad episode. For my surgery, they used barbiturates. It is crazy which things can affect depression.

I was going through some paperwork that needed sorting and found Bernie's release stuff from the vet. I found out that Bernie is a different breed than we thought. He's a Norwegian Forest Cat. I researched it and it fits him to a tee. He's getting more and more like his old self. He's not liking the canned food only diet so I've been putting some water in his dry food. He eats that pretty well.

I also found my surgical release. The dr ordered me to stop the Flovent. Which is good and bad, good because I won't be getting thrush and my immune system will get stronger but going off it is because it had no effect on my throat. I still have to get biopsy results, though.

Keeping your mind busy will help Jessica.

I am sorry things don't seem to be going good. I hope that they get better. Keep hanging in there, use coping skills...

Morning All-

Rob- yellow jackets- ouchy!!!!! I'm glad you got sleep and rested. I've only been getting around 5 hours a night lately. Not worried- just getting my body back into the little sleep mode.

Karen- have fun with the blackberries!

Jessica- try and have a good time at the shower. Did you feel the earthquake? I hope you are all safe.

UA- I'm glad you and your co worker are ok. But what about that manager? That's nuts!

I had a run in Friday night with a co worker. I brought attention to a couple of issues (went straight to her, not her boss) and she accused me of telling her how to do her job. It ended with me telling her in no uncertain terms that in the future I wouldn't inform her- I'll say nothing- and let her be hung out to dry. Her tone and words were so rude. But I handled her. I knew it was coming and yes I'll be working closely with her this year. I'm not backing down to her- the old me would, but not any more.

Well I've been up since 4:30 this morning working on school stuff. Tomorrow is the big day. Right now, I'm calm but excited. The first couple of days are crazy. But at least we have Labor Day off!!

Yes AV I most certainly have. It was stifling today in the woods. Very hot and humid. We didn't find a lot of blackberries that were ripe, but we did find some oyster mushrooms. Trying to find a good recipe on the internet. Thanks for asking...

Rob, I am so sorry you are struggling with all of this. I hope you can get some things sorted out soon. Sounds like it is all up in the air right now.

I imagine it would be hard to see Gizmo's undercoat since he is all the same color. Jasmine gets those little tufts of fur sticking out. I can tell she needs to be brushed. She sure has been shedding this fall.

LAst day of Mom care. Just remade her bed and got the sheets in the dryer. Need to check the garden, do some dishes, and apply to a job I found this AM. Cancelled my gym membership (I know, but I cannot justify it to myself given the situation), and sent paperwork off to Unemployment. One job app off and one more to go. Plus trolling the sub site for jobs.

BAd argument with BF last night, the first in a really long time. I think we are both kinda mad, still. Peace, chawl.

First day was a success!! When I left yesterday I couldn't log into my computer which could make today very interesting!! I will say my body ached yesterday when I got home.

I start college classes tonight which means today is going to be a long day. But everything will be ok.

Karen, I'm glad you took the initiative to make an appointment. With depression it is so easy to not do that. I'm really hoping you feel better.

Jamie, it shouldn't be a problem. Occasionally, you do need to shut your computer down, though. That keeps the ram and memory from bogging the system down.

Heart, I have been thinking about you. Complications really stink, I'm like you I collect them. Try to trust your drs but do stand up for yourself if they aren't listening. Try to give your body time to heal.

I'm going to lunch with my grandmother and step mother. My hospital stay made my dad and step mom realize that they haven't so much as texted me since May. I'm still struggling and really would rather not go but I know I can't just hole up in my home.

My aunt has managed to get herself arrested. She was passing hot checks. She has always been irresponsible and a mess. If she were the only one affected I would think this is what she gets but she has a teenaged daughter at home. My cousin has been left home alone, her dad died 4 years ago. She has no food and the water company is coming out to shut off the water. I'm scrambling trying to come up with the money for the water bill. I called but because of my aunt's history they won't do an extension. Sadly, by the end of the month my finances are pretty much 0 and I won't get my benefits until the first. If she lived closed than 45 minutes - an hour away I would just have her stay here but she has to go to school and I have no idea how long her mom will be gone. I really hope I can come up with a solution. This kid has been through a lot and I hate that she is in this position.
