Hi karen, I used to take some moderate pain killers which took the edge off, but haven't taken any for months as they rarely did much and by the time they kicked in the pain would have eased anyway. Most Dr's have just refused me any pain meds anyway as they don't think they'll help and they're probably right in terms of opiates but I've been wanting to try something like gabapentin or pregabalin for the anxiety as well but no one will prescribe it, my last Dr came so close but told me to give it another month to see if it improved, then he left the practise.
The one good thing about it is that it moves, which stops it really getting to me as much, and I have short moments when I am pain free, especially when I wake up in the morning and before my brain has woken up and decided it's time to be in pain again. Other things that help are causing myself pain somewhere else, like with boiling hot water, quickly eliminates my other pains, I use a hot water bottle to sleep and it works well, though now the weather is warmer I need a fan on me as well to keep me cool haha.
Hope you have a nice day
