I recall a day when my gf and I were sitting in the living room and we hear this kathunk, kathunk, kathunk coming from outside. I get up and open the door and there is my cat, Ku-Ku, with a plastic jar stuck on her head! My gf starts panicking...but I had just seen a program on 'what to do in this situation' so I get the oil out of the cabinet, pick up the cat and get her head unstuck, calm as can be!

She will be known from that day on as Ku-Ku bobblehead!

Jasmine howls to the theme song of Two and a Half Men... Never fails. We have to put her on a chain when she goes outside because we live on a busy road and she is a car chaser. She will go to the door for us to let her in (she will jump on it). When I go to let her in, she picks up her chain and prances out of my reach. She wants to play.

Do you ever put tape on the bottom of Cat27's paws? That is terribly funny to watch.

I keep my vodka in the freezer and my cat is very interested when I pull the bottle out. He wants to sniff the bottle and then touch it with his paw. When he touches the bottle he then shakes his paws. I laugh and call him frosty paws.

Not a pet story, but the cutest thing I ever saw was 18 or so (I lost count) ducklings all huddled together in one fuzzy mass by the side of the canal. It was so cute, it was ridiculous. Tragically, I did not have my phone on me that day. On the other hand, the cuteness overload would probably have sent my phone into meltdown and caused it to explode. Silver linings and that.

I have been without pets for five years now. I miss them badly.

My two cats, Catter and Floyd, both died from old age.

Catter was alpha cat. She was very dignified and a former street cat. She was also the smartest cat I have ever known. She tolerated Floydie--but hated Deirdre, another cat I adopted briefly. I fed them from separate bowls. Catter used to wait for Deirdra to walk away, and then would eat all of Deirdra's food. Every meal. She also used to urinate on my pillows whenever we moved. Just my pillows. No one else.

Floyd was a diabetic. We called her a "special needs" cat because she was not very bright. Floyd would wake bf up in the middle of the night to come and watch her eat her middle of the night snack. We figured that since we always watched her eat and then gave her an insulin shot, she decided she couldn't eat unless someone watched her. She never woke me up--but she might have tried.

Floyd would sit on the toilet lid and watch BF shave in the mornings. He uses an electric razor. We decided she liked the vibrations. She was very happy when we bought an electric toothbrush.

Thanks for this. It was nice to have a distraction. I have been watching videos about corgis in recent months--they are my new favorite animal.

Our Brittany Spaniel steals the tv remote. He waits for the husband to move or get up to go to the bathroom & he springs into action. Often he changes the channel & turns the tv on if its off. We gave him a remote thinking he would stop this, it did not work.

Since he is such a thief, anything edible goes in the refrigerator or microwave. He takes my mouse off the kitchen table, mouse pad, in other words anything he can nab is free game with him.

LOL--Straydog--you reminded me of something. One night, we were sound asleep when all of a sudden, the TV starts blaring in the living room. We went in to find the cats facing off, and one of them standing on the remote. They had apparently hit it just right so that the tv turned on, and then in the resulting panic, the volume button had gotten depressed. They were bewildered. I just laughed and laughed. And went back to bed.

This one is a bit gross, so if you have a weak stomach...

When Micah was a puppy she loved to eat my socks. One day at the dog park there was another dog owner there with us.

We're chatting as the dogs are romping. Micah stops, gets in the 'poop' position, and a 10 inch long turd comes out! The guy is freaking out about such a large turd coming from a 'puppy'...I'm a bit unnerved as well. I get the bag out to clean it up and realize...It's a poop coated sock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That reminds me of Casey, he was a great dog.

Back in the day he at 2 video tapes. Just the tapes. Vet prayed him to be sure no hard plastic parts were swallowed and you could see the film all balled up in his stomach.

as per in structions we gave him bread with oil and Metamucil, next 3 days, was Casey's "film festival". Ha!

OuterLimits, I have a 4 legged & 2 legged that snores. Some nights I end up on the couch, lol. The 4 legged sleeps in the middle on his back, feet in the air. Some nights he runs in sleep with the legs a moving. Then the husband has bad restless leg syndrome (he is diabetic), so his legs jump & kick all night. Sleeping with those 2 some nights is just rough.

This is perhaps not the place to ask a question...but I'll try....

I need advice about cat litter. I bought some new for the winter months

My twelve year old indoor - outdoor guy did his job on my hand woven braided rug. This was his first 'mistake'...so it must have something to do with the new litter.
It was "Tidy Cats clumping litter Light weight"
It has "ammonia blocker" which is strong smelling...and might be the reason.

Anyway...when I throw this stuff out...what do you use and should I buy?
