I am not sure how to begin my story but I am really missing my family I lost them last year cuz my mom took advantage of my credit cards and I phoned the police about this matter and because she was my trustee I am on disablity got mild cerebral palsy. I am really sad cuz my mom's bday was in march sent her an email but no response and the only person I really talk to is my older sister jen and my dad's mom. Mother's day is on sunday and I can't even say happy mother's day cuz I believe my mom wants nothing to do with me anymore. My mom even got my own my twin sister side with her and every one else but it hurts I was real close with my family at one time and now it seems like there is nothing for me I wanna cry at times but I have to think what she did to was wrong. The police even told me on the phone that there was nothing they were going to do because she was my trustee. I need to know what you all think if you were in postion I just want my family baxk I have tried calling them and it seems like they don't even want to acknowledge I exist. I love them so much I have a twin sister adrienne two older sisters jennifer,shannon and a younger brother dylan but since this has happened my parents have even had there ups and downs I heard from my dad's moom which is my grandma that she keeps leaving my dad and coming back and they leaving and they have been common-law for over 20 yrs. I need a little bit of kinds words here ppl if you can help thanks alexis known as lexipoo in the hernia forum

What your mother did was wrong and she also took advantage of you. It may take some time, but I think family members will come to realize that you didn't do anything wrong. Believe in yourself and know what you did was the right thing. You have to be able to trust people who are looking after you. Who is your trustee now?

Do you have a counselor? They really help.

I understand, Alexis, it's good that you are away from the woman who has caused you harm.

I realized after I had posted that your situation was not one in which an estate was involved, so I knew that what I had written was not appropriate for you.

I'm sure you will outgrow your feelings of hatred, but I hope, as you suggest, that you never let that happen to a child of yours.

You are a good person.

That is just something that remains to be seen. It all probably depends on whether you try to make contact with her or not. I did not have a good relationship with my mother, so I am probably not much help here. If you got her a card, would you be able to get it to her on time? Would it make you feel better if you did? If you want to continue the relationship, make contact and see how she feels. But if she takes advantage of you, you might be better off without the relationship. Or keep it at a minimum with no oppertunities for her to manipulate you.

I would think on it. Send a card if you think it will make you feel better. But I would take it slow...

I think that depression is just a state of mind, and a lot of stress. When I first felt funky I didn't know what to do
I lost my husband in 2001 to cancer.
I just went numb to say the least. It's been 11 years now and I still have a problem facing the fact that the love of my life is gone.
I told myself "Wake up woman and take a look at the good side of your life." I have 5 Sons & 2 sweet Daughters that love me.
I will never forget my sweet husband but I must carry on for my children. I have 12 year old grandson that called me,"
His Treasurer" ya just can't be ate that.
What I want to say to you my friend is,"Please try to look on the very bright side of life and the depression will fade away."

Can you do things with other family members? Without your mom being there? I would keep in contact with other family members even though you aren't keeping in contact with your mother. If that is possible. You can make plans just to get together for lunch of something. Even if it is just with a couple of people. They don't have to take sides or anything like that.

Make some new friends. I have friends that are closer than family members. There aren't many of my family left. I have a couple of cousins that I keep in touch with on facebook. But that is about it. I talk to my sister now and then on the phone. But I don't see them enough to do things with them. When my sister was up last, I had a bug so I was to sick to do anything. It really kind of sucked. Oh well, we will have other chances I guess. If it is meant to be it will.

Try to relax. You do have fond memories of your family you can think about I am sure. Try not to focus on the not so good. You know you are probably better off this way than you are being manipulated by your mother. So try to make the best of it that you can, and keep in touch with other family members that you get along with. For instance your granddmother. Spend quality time with her. You will never regret it.

Things are going to be okay.

Things will get better for you. Time does heal wounds. I think in time, your mother will come around and see things the way that you did. Give it a little while longer. You have made the first step by getting ahold of her on her birthday (If I remember that right), so the ball is in her court now. Keep doing things and keep your mind busy. I think eventually she will get in touch with you. If it is meant to be... In the mean time, take care of you.

I sure will. Been going through a little bit of stress with getting my bathroom redone. I have to go and pick out somethings tomorrow for it, which should be fun, but... I am overwhelmed this week as I had a doctor'appointment and a counseling appointment with my psychologist. Plus had to go shopping today. I am going to do some fun things though like making moss baskets with my friend. So that should be something relaxing. I like to work with plants.

The day went well... Got the shopping done. Picked out a new vanity for the bathroom. I really like it. Got tiles for the bathroom floor. I think it will look nice. Had to do a lot of guy shopping. The guys made the list. Tools and stuff needed for the job. It is going well. Taking awhile though. Longer than I want it to. But you can't rush this...

My girlfriend and I did make moss baskets. A lot of the plants froze last night, which is a bummer. They were in my green house too. I lost some tomato plants too. Bummer... But not all of them. We were able to do three baskets. With petunias, and vines and such.

Hi Alexis,

Thanks for your very kind post. I live in Michigan. I believe you can get to Ontario from Michigan. I am in northern lower penninsular. We are zone 4 so it gets quite cold here. This has actually been a cold spring for the most part. But we had a mild winter so I really can't complain. I am imagining that our weather may be similar.

It is getting cold now, so I fear another cold night. I hope it just doesn't get as cold as it did last night.

The first 48 is a good show. I catch a lot of the older ones. We watch a lot of cbs so I don't get to see the new ones. But yea, it is very interesting to me.

I hope you enjoy your show. Sounds like you had a productive day too.

Hi Alexis,

We should have water tomorrow. But I emphasize the "should". I never count on things going smoothly when it comes to these things. My husband and two other guys are doing the work. I found a nice vanity that I love. We got a new shower, toilet, hot water heater and vanity. It should look good when it is done. He is putting in new tile and formica on the walls. So it should be easy to clean. I am hoping anyway.

It is fantastic to hear that you had a good day again. It is always nice to be able to say that. I am really happy for you. You are young and have many good years ahead of you. I miss my thirties. They were my absolute best years. Not saying I am not happy now, I am. But I had so much energy and was really healthy then. Not all these aches and pains. But one day at a time, I get by. That is all we can do, and I find it is the easiest way to go.

I am glad things are going well for you karen, I woke up really late today I have hard time sleping at night I have to take some serqueol 40 mg to sleep. I got up at 12:23pm so that is a little late for me but I got up had a shower had my breakfast now writing back to you. I have to be able to sleep if I don't get any  sleep I am a mess sereve panic atttacks that lead to sezuires and just really don't know what to do. I even have nap sometimes in the afternoon depends on what time I get up. I am so happy that things are going well for you with your bathroom. I am really happy to almost outta of debt and then my friend and myself are going  to have save up money and try and buy a house we have been talking about this for a few yrs now we are just really hate to live  in an apt. In december we had spent $3000 dollars to control a bed bug situation we had here. The rest of the ppl that live here are so fruatrated with the situation they all want to move. Then I had my hernia operation and had to buy myself a recliner for my recovery I have my surgrey done on jan 11th 2012. I am really glad I did it cuz I was so nausated with this and in pain all the time. had my hernia for 4 yrs before then even operated. I hope you have a  great day hopefully we can chat soon. Hi Alexis,

Wow $3000 for pest control. That is a lot. Well, honestly I don't know but it sounds high to me. It has been a good day. It is hot here. I don't like that. But it is better than cold. The weather has really been up and down lately here.

The guys are still working on the bathroom. They promised I would have at least my shower and toilet today. Then I think it will be a couple of days before they do more. It is awful hot to be working today. It is over 90 here.

I am sorry that you had to have a hernia operation, but I am glad that you are recovering well. I guess there are times we have no choice in the matter. We have to do what we need to do. I am just glad that it went well and that you are feeling better. Being nauseated all the time is no fun.

I get up so early now days. I have a hip that aches in the mornings so I have to get out of bed. Usually around six or seven. I try to stay up late so I will sleep later, but I am up at the crack of dawn. I kind of like it then. It is quiet and I get on the computer and listen to the birds sing. It is really peaceful.

I hope that you are feeling well today. I hope that you and your friend are able to get a house. That would be so cool.

Thanks karen, Wow that is pretty hot 90 degrees yes we are talking about it alot we just hate all the problems in this building there is a person that lives above us that beats up woman we just heard today. we herad it before and she was screaming for someone to call 911 we did the police showed up and charged the guy and he is still here I hate it. its warm here today and tomorrow will 28 degrees by the end of the week we will be seeing humdity here. I am glad things are working well for you I can't wait to hear when your bathroom is all done and you can finally use your bathroom again lol. I have been just thinking alot about my future and just want things to look up for me. I am so sick of my debt its driving me crazy I only owe $ 752 on my master card thank god its finally going to be gone when I get my disablity cheque this month I am paying if off cuz it's causing me to pay intrest on such a high charge. Thanks for writing... It sounds like it is hot there too. It was a scorcher today for sure. We now have all the doors and windows shut and the air conditioner and fans on. I hope that we don't have a real hot summer. Though I will take it as it comes I guess.

I am glad that you are paying off your credit card, and I am sure that they are going to try to tempt you to go back into debt. That is what mine did. But the good thing is that maybe they will lower your interest rates to keep you purcasing things. We'll see how that one plays out.

The guys got quite a bit done today, but nothing goes the way we hope. Always needing more parts and making more trips to town. So we are getting a motel room for another day or two I guess. I figured it wouldn't go smoothe so it isn't too upsetting. Nothing like that goes as planned.

your welcome karen that suxs that you have to rent a hotel again for a few days well hope all works out in the end. I am just watching a movie with my friend for the rest of the night. I like chatting with your a really nice person you seem to know what I am going through you been there too. I just hate the fact I have debt still but then in july I have an anual fee I pay to use my captial one master card I have a fee of 59.00 a yr until it expires. Hope all is well talk soon Alexis

My husband is the one I am worried about today. He didnt' sleep last night and the guy we hired to do the work skiipped out on us yesterday. Left everything a mess. Leaks in the plumbing. I have a toilet but can't use it now. I know that things will work out. Just have to be patient. But we have an incompetent builder right now. His girlfriend keeps calling him while he is working. I am going to take his phone away today. Whether he likes it or not. I will talk to the girlfriend and tell her to leave us alone until the job is done. This is very frustrating, but it will be over soon I hope.

I am sorry you have an anual fee. Is it a good credit card in other ways? Is it worth it? You can always sell the debt to another card if you need to. I have done that before. Paid one off with the other. To get lower interest rates. So think about doing that if the fee is too much. On top of payments.

I hope you are having a nice Sunday. You sound good. For that I am very happy. You are such a nice person Alexis. Always remember that.

Thanks karen,  I feel for you I can't believe the guy that is doing your plumbing screwed up what an idiot I would be trying to find someone else if he girlfriend is more important then the work he is supposed to be doing? I hope you guys have a better day and I feel for your husband he is probabley soooo tired and just wants the job done so you guys have your house back again and no more sleeping in hotels. hope you have a great day and hopefullly the guy doing the plumbing does a better job today and actually shows up this time cuz you guys are paying him for work and he is not doing it right. have a wonderful day Karen. I have 3 sisters and a brother Jennifer the oldest second Shannnon and my twin sister Adrienne and my brother Dylan. I listening to music when I write you messages back there is certain songs that I just want to cry cuz it makes me think of my family I hope one day they can all forgive me and we can have contact and talk 2 weeks ago my older sister Jennifer talked to me cuz it was my oldest nieces 18th birthday which makes me feeel really old and now I am getting grey hair I hate this part of getting older this is what happens. I wish I had a close relationship with a girlfriend cause its so hard to talk to my friend I live with cuz he is a man and does not understand a close relationship with woman. what type of music do u like? me I like pop, rap country listening to all kinds except heavy meatal and classical hate that stuff. Going to the motel to get a shower. I think it will be done tomorrow. But now he wants to put in a new kitchen sink. So we'll see how that goes. One mess after another, but will be glad to have it done.

So you will be able to stay at home tomorrow night. How long have you guys been doing your bathroom? hope you guys have a good night hope you have a good night sleep also now that everything is offfcially complete. its going to be another hot days here this week we have a smog advisory here in hamilton so thats it for me because I have asthma I have to stay indoors where the cool air is. We have been working on the bathrom for about five days now. It is very frustrating.
