Hello,
I haven't been here in a bit and have been having a hard time as I lost my sister a year ago tomorrow and her birthday was just 12 days ago. But, true to character, life has continued and brought with it outstanding circumstance.
My daughter is studying to be a pilot (costing me far more than I expected) and recently volunteered to help with a country-wide event called "Women in Aviation", the goal being to get as many women as possible in the air in one day. Well, she volunteered and spent the day helping visitors and chatting with the pilots - private and commercial pilots flying all types of craft.
She also had opportunity to fly different aircraft and have some pilots assess her skill - she only has about 10 hours flying time logged. Two such pilots were father and son who run their own private plane service and it was with one of these that she got to fly and be assessed.
She made such an impression that the father gave her his business card and told her to call him when she gets her PPL (Private Pilot License), which she'll have by summer's end, and she will have a position with him!
Not even finished 1st year University and she already has a job flying!!! I couldn't be more proud!
So, another assurance that however ugly, painful or depressing life may seem there is always something good happening or waiting just around the corner. I'll miss and cry for my sister tomorrow but I'll also be elated and proud because of my daughter.
Sometimes it's real hard to see anything good or feel good about anything but if you can look hard enough, the good is there - we just need to lift our heads above the fog.
Take Care and Ease Everyone.
Brian
