Daily Check In Thread For All #193

Went to mums aged care ctr to drop of card and recharge fir her ph. No visits and neither on mothers day. Rung buzzer gave to nurse. Not much sleep. Checked in old neighbor up the road bins in. Laundry. Tired now. HT

Still here, still healthy. We've one person in my trailer park that had to be hospitalized for the virus...getting a bit too close to home for me. Over 200 people in my town now positive. Ugh!

I finally dug up the floppy ornamental grass and replaced it with 2 iris plants, one of which is blooming with these gorgeous 'blue' and white flowers! The azalea is a great hot pink spectacle on a cloudy, cold day. The columbines have begun blooming, too! The ones I have are mauve/pink. Still much too cold to put the canna plants outside and get my dining table back...but they're doing well. I have another bud on my 'Clown' amaryllis to look forward to.

I told my daughter we can't go 'back to normal' but we're making our way through what this is now. She's asked to come see me on Sunday and I said Okay. Baby steps.

Probably a good idea, Mike. You never know how it might turn out.

Sunny but windy here today. My first flowers are up - dandelions! If the foliage didn't look so bad I might leave them. I am upgrading my patio with two new chairs and some new gravel. I am in the process of moving everything off of it and finding new homes for stuff. I have more energy than I did last weekend but not enough to finish it one day.

Snowing huge flakes today. This morning I should say.

Kathy, I see a lot of people are making dandelion wine. Maybe you should do that. Our dandelions aren't even up yet.

I know how you feel Mike, I am sick of it. I need some nice weather to get things done. I want to be outside but it is too cold today. Was snowing huge flakes earlier. Now it is a lot of snow but the flakes aren't as big. Sun trying to come out but so cloudy.

Snow here too. Woke up to it snowing and now everything is white again. Baked biscuits this morning for breakfast sandwiches. Think I will make some cookies today. Good day for baking, it is cold.

The snow melted but it is cloudy and kind of windy. We've had a windy spring. I think I lost a poplar tree. Laying on the ground and I don't remember it being there before. Tall tree.

I'm sorry all you "easterners" got snow in May - that's usually what happens here in the mountains. We got some rain a couple of days ago which is much better than snow. My mood is declining. Today is my Friday - I work Monday Tuesday Wednesday . I am going to my little Utah house tomorrow to mow the weeds and turn on the drip system.

Hi Jamie Washington, I am sorry you are tired today. It is gloomy here and has been raining. Is it that way where you are? That could be why you are tired. If you have been inside a lot you might need some vitamin D. I take it every day. Did you sleep well last night? That can obviously make us tired. Whatever it is I hope you feel better soon.

Hi all. Still here. I've not been well. Sore throat, passed it off to allergies. Then add body aches, especially elbows, shoulders and hips, passed it off to yardwork. Then add fever...uh oh! Used my Zicam nasal swabs and was better the next morning...thank God! Had me scared for a minute! Even with being as careful as I am, I picked up some bug! Just glad the Zicam nipped it in the bud for me!

It's cooler than normal here but nice. I've been getting rid of a lot of things that were out in the yard or on the patio. Gave away a bunch of flower pots...put some things in the trash...trying to remove any possible breeding grounds for ticks and mosquitos. I'm determined to enjoy my yard this year!! Might even buy a bug zapper.

Star of Bethlehem is blooming...low growing white six petaled stars! They've multiplied! The Trillium are blooming, though you have to get very close to appreciate the subtle yellow petals and the mottled leaves. The Honesty is nearly done blooming and the 'silver dollar' seed pods are forming. The lilies are getting bigger and the buds look full of promise for tons of color soon. I've moved all of the canna plants out onto the patio. The dry root ones are doing much better than the ones stored over winter in the pots. Now I know which method will be best for the plants, although much more work for me!
