Do you have snow now? We had it before but it melted each time. It snowed last night and it cold today so it didn't melt. I have a sneaking suspicion that it may be here to stay this time.

It must be so much fun with the kitten around. They are fun to watch.

Supposed to actually be 54 here today so some snow should melt. I was surprised to read that in the weather.

Tommy sounds like a blast. Sid sounds like he tolerates Tommy. That is cool. I haven't had a kitten in many years. Puppies but not kittens. There was a cat that somebody dropped off here and lived in an out building. He was so mean. Orange cat. He would hiss and bite. We had to take him to the no kill shelter. I am hoping that when he got around other cats that he calmed down. He was pretty. But I never had seen such a mean cat. Maybe that is why they dropped it off here. There were actually three cats and two left. One stayed.

Things are shutting down here too. Covid spikes. I guess it is for the best. I hope this virus gets under control. It is getting pretty scary.

I love stories like that. Just what I needed to perk up myself this morning.

I imagine your flowers are almost done. Maybe some perennials left? Here there is nothing left. All the leaves are off the trees. Even my burning bush is bare. The rabbits chew on it every winter but it still comes back.

We had snow but it melted. But it is going to get cold again.

Today I hope to get stuff for Thanksgiving dinner. Maybe some extra toilet paper, I hear people are hording it again. Silly. They say that the stores are prepared this time, we'll see.

That's awesome Pitmom! I bet the trees will be gorgeous when you are finished. I haven't had a tree in years. They don't withstand doggies. Plus my place is so small. But when I did, I ended up liking the frasier firs. I spelled that wrong. But they smelled like oranges to me. Before that it was always douglas firs. My friends had a Christmas tree farm and always brought me a small one.

I sometimes get a rosemary plant shaped like a Christmas tree if they have them at the store. I just keep it on the dining room table. Put a bow on it. LOL...

Yes, what goes up must come down. It is good to realize that before you put too much up. But you can always take it down a little at a time. Make it fun.

I hope you have a good night. Wont be long and it will be Thanksgiving. The time flies. I guess most everybody will stay home. We are. This has been a crazy year. I hope 2021 will be better. More under control I guess. Or more in our control if that is possible. I know not everything is, but a person could get to feel pretty helpless with the situation as it is with covid and all. One day at a time. That is all we can do.

You said you had trouble with noise. I've had that same thing. I've even gone so far as to put up partita board in the windows.

Less drastic are box fans between you and the noise source. What sound gets through the windows and wall, is met by softer sound waves which tend to lower the incoming sound waves.

If you watch TV and listen to music in a room that is one room away from the direction the sound is coming from, you can cut on a fan or two in that empty room that faces the sound.

You can even put the TV in a different room, one room away from the noise, if the TV room faces the sound.

You could get storm windows so you would have two layers of glass, and even place a small speaker in between those two and have it play "hiss" sounds.

Happy early Thanksgiving to all... even if TPTB are discouraging getting together in person. Maybe next year, if/when the vaccines are distributed to everyone (and actually wind up working without too many issues).

Regarding noise, I can certainly commiserate with anyone suffering it. I think we even discussed it here a while back. Nothing like good ear plugs and a source of white noise to mitigate the problem... but I'm always open to new suggestions.

Paul, is your problem your ears or a particular noise situation?

Well, I'm going to my cousin for Thanksgiving. Will be a few people there. I wasn't going to go, but I can't leave in fear to the point I'm hindered. I'll be wearing a mask and stuff. I'm just tired of the isolation.

Hi all. I messed up my shoulder, again! Not sure exactly how. I know I was pretty fatigued from putting up the holiday decorations over 2 days, finally pacing myself, but then reaching for something at the store 'pinched' it or something. Now, I can't lift, absolutely NO weight bearing, no reaching behind my back while dressing (you get the drift). This is one of my biggest fears, losing even more function. Been babying it for the last few days but it doesn't seem to be improving. Sigh.

Anyway...my new Amaryllis bulb is coming along nicely and I just took two pots out of storage/dormancy. My Thanksgiving cactus has wonderful white blossoms on it! Loving the flowers and green growing in the kitchen!

I picked up a smallish turkey breast, fresh bag of potatoes, cranberry sauce, and I already have corn. No one is coming and that's just fine with me! I can cook when I want with no one else's schedules to be concerned with. Might stop at the store and pick up some Pillsbury biscuits. Luckily, I don't have to do a big bird (bad shoulder ya know) or tons of potatoes! While the food is cooking, I'll clear the shelf in the living room and set up the Nativity scene and at dusk I'll light the outside decorations! I'm only a little sad that there will be no Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to watch while I peel potatoes. Somewhere I have a copy of Miracle on 34th Street on d.v.d. I'll have to scrounge around and find it!
