Good Evening,
I am a registered nurse as well as a baccalaureate nursing student, currently studying community health, with a focus on mental health. In my studies this semester I have found that many communities in the United States are lacking adequate mental health services and resources. With the addition of the COVID-19 pandemic, I fear that many people may face increased difficulty accessing the already limited mental health care services they need. I am interested in learning more about your experience with access to mental health care services within your community, as well as how this has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. I will be using this information to better care for my future patients.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, did you find that there were enough mental health resources in the community to assist you?
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, have you encountered any difficulty accessing mental healthcare providers?
I appreciate any input and inquiries on this topic
