Turnkegates,
You must take your diabetus very seriously . Ask your doctor about anything your not sure of. That's what they are there for. The only stupid question is an unasked one. They can send you to a specialist to get the care you need. Don't let it go like I did at first . I was in denial about diabetus for several years and thought it would never happen to me, although it runs in the family. My mother had it for many years before she died and had both legs amputated because of it. I had gained alot of weight from overeating for many years and had an office job where I didn't get any exercise. The only exercise I got was walking a block or so from the parking lot to my office and I was winded when I got there. All my extra weight along with the fact I had basically uncared for diebetus was killing me. I claimed I was always too tired for it after I was done with work. The fact is if I had lost some weight I probably would have had more energy. It hit me hard in 2007. I had to take a medical leave from work mid Summer because my legs were getting so bad I needed to use a wheelchair to get around most all the time. I finally was getting the regular medical care for my diabetus which I should have been getting for at least a couple years before this, maybe more. It was too late though to save my legs. They were both amputated in December 2007 more than a foot above my knees. I now push myslef around in a wheelchair which is not a lot of fun. I am not writing this to scare you or ask for sympathy. I manage pretty good even without my legs. The point is do whatever you can to manage and get good control of your diabetus so you don't wind up like me and many others who have needed amputations or gone blind from this disease.
