Not exactly related to diabetes, but not unrelated, either.
I'd like to beef up my fiber intake. Bran flakes, etc. seem to make me more constipated rather than less (might be the milk doing that).
Are there any easy fiber sources that come to mind? Something that doesn't require much mixing or preparing, and is tasty and easy to consume. Metamucil Fiber Thins come to mind, but they are only 4 grams of fiber, and only soluble fiber...
I wouldn't mind some kind of powder that could be baked into some sort of breakfast bar, along with protein powder. Seems like a banana-oatmeal bar could be created... applesauce for sweetener.... dunno.
Would like to increase both soluble and insoluble fiber and the daily recommended amount is 25 grams daily. I do eat fruits and vegetables, but I'm sure I'm not getting enough. Suggestions welcomed!
