if i had 2 seizures when i was teen does that mean im epileptic on dilantin but levels never went higher than 3.6?
i was on a barbituate sleeping pill at the time and my mom tried waking me up but just my eyes were rolling and i was very limp . i went to hospital EEg was fine. next day same thing same time this time EEG showed activity but this was in 1998 now i am told that the barbiturate could have spiked the EEG. Quit the sleeping med after 2nd
i was 16 then 31 now been seizure free or whatever happened since then
no medical expert witnessed these episodes

Best to ask a doctor. You are or were on Dilantin? If you are what are your current levels? Who put you on Dilantin, if you are still on Dilantin, who maintains the prescription? 3.6 is well below the therapeutic range of 10 to 20 mcg/ml.

Nevertheless, a doctor would need to assess if the Dilantin can be discontinued and if so, what tapering dose to use. I take Dilantin twice a day. It's effective, and I've taken it for years.

i was given it at the er and been taking it now for 16 years levels have never been higher than 4.7
they just leave me on it .
i cant afford an EEG
