Hi, and welcome! I don't think we have met yet. I'm glad you found us and joined the family.
Be sure to check out Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro there and you will learn a lot.
I don't suffer from depression, generally, but when my husband died I did suffer from depression and it sure is horrible. I found that light really helped me. I moved to Florida from up north and the sun "perked" me up. If you don't live in a sunny climate, then you can get light boxes that help. It helps raise the serotonin levels. Here is a link explaining them. I think there are various manufacturers but it might be something to consider.

As others have said, count your blessings. You have a little bundle of blessings already! Maybe make a list of all the positive things in your life. You can make a list of the negative things too, but I just bet the positive list is a lot longer! We seem to dwell on negative things and it affects depression and also the pain of fibro. Here is a great link from Fibro 101 about positive thinking.

Lastly, don't dwell on how you feel. Make plans for each day. I look forward to each new day with anticipation because we don't know what wonderful things it may hold! Your son will give you plenty to plan around and look forward to. As you focus on other things, your depression should ease and your pain should be better.
I hope some of these suggestions that the members and I have posted help you out. Have a great day and I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Hope to hear more from you soon.
