Hi, Shannon, and welcome! I'm so glad you found us and joined the family! Well, fibro is not a death sentence and I'm very thankful for that! We don't even end up with deformed joints other illnesses. Yes, we do have pain and fatigue but we can try to find things that help us with that. I have had a full and enjoyable life in spite of fibro so if I can do it, so can you!
Fibro fog...you must have a great sense of humor to deal with this. I thought I was coming down with Alzheimer's when it first kicked in. Scared me to death! Now I laugh at it. If you stress over it and get upset, it seems to be worse. But if you can laugh at yourself, you will be fine. I've tried to start my car with the key to my freezer...twice! I'm sure that won't be the last time, either!
But, hey, we're lovable!
Fatigue is a tough symptom. Be sure to have a sleep schedule. Go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time. This helps your body know that when you go to bed, you are to sleep. This has helped me sleep better. I also take malic acid/magnesium supplements and they have helped me with pain and fatigue. You have to try things to see what works best for you because what works for one with fibro doesn't necessarily work for another. But never give up. We have good ideas here, too, to try.
Be sure to check out Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good information about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Knowledge is power! There is a link about malic acid/magnesium supplements and how they work in the body and also a link about vitamin D3, too. If you are deficient in D, you can have more pain!
I'm glad you have a wonderful husband. That is a huge plus with this illness.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. I hope to hear more from you soon.
