Hi, Alikat, and welcome! I'm glad you found us and joined the family. You have gotten great advice from our members. Fibro sure is a miserable illness but you can have a full and enjoyable life in spite of it.
I tried Tramadol but it only put me to sleep so I don't use that. I use ibuprofen with food, extra strength Tylenol, malic acid/magnesium supplements and vitamin D3 supplements to help with the pain and fatigue. Then I add gentle stretching exercises, gentle daily exercises (I walk and swim), gentle massages and moist heat. This combination works for me. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another so it's a trial and error type thing.
I also have found that attitude plays a big part in this illness. If I'm thinking negatively, my mind will focus on how I am feeling and it's usually not a pretty picture. Instead, I try focusing on other things and then the pain fades in the background...especially if I'm doing something I really enjoy. I also make a point of counting all the blessings I have and all the things I can do with this illness. Then it doesn't seem so bad. Stress and anxiety don't help one bit. They actually make the pain worse so, when I feel these rising in me, I head out the door for a walk and look at the flowers, landscaping, etc. This really relaxes me and puts things in perspective.
Be sure to check out Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. There are links about malic acid/magnesium supplements and also vitamin D3 and how these work in your body. I am surprised at the help I get from these.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. I hope to hear more from you soon.
